Sharks are fish, not mammals. But not all non-mammal species lay eggs. Many cold blooded animals (fish, lizards, snakes, amphibians) have live births. Sharks are one of these. I do think there may be a couple rare subspecies of shark that do lay eggs, but the most common ones don't.

They do both, depend on what kind of sharks, some lay eggs in the sack and left it in the kelp or any where they think it safe. Some will give birth to baby shark (The strongest baby shark survive inside its mommy's tummy. It will it its sister or brother in there)

Go with Kevin and IDJIT90. Sharks do produce eggs. Some retain them for added protection, others lay eggs that are usually attached to a substrate like kelp, seagrass, etc.

sharks are NOT mammals.. they are fish. They have gills.

Most sharks bear live young, but some species do lay eggs.

There are some life-bearing fish. Guppies for example bear live young.

Well since they have gills I'm gonna say they aren't mammals. They do give birth to live young though.
