Most people would see saving that sort of information as an invasion of privacy. First, the search engine would need to uniquely identify you so that the queries are saved. Second, where are they saved? Would you want them on your desktop or on the server? How much storage space is required and what sort of access controls are needed? Third, what is the retention policy of past queries?

I'm betting most people prefer to use a site and store as little information there as they can to retain privacy.

** Edit **
Now what sites will do is store non-personal information about queries for the sake of improving their product and advertising capabilities. If you queried for "cars", notice that related links will show up with automobile sales and automobile insurance. The query you entered may not be specifically saved but the search engine will definitely track categories and key word search terms without necessarily saving it as "your query".
