Best way to destroy a old computer?

Question

I have a old computer that i am getting rid of. Whats the best way to completely destroy it.
Fire?
Throwing off the roof?
Sledgehammer?
Give me ideas people.

The only item that you need to destroy is your hard disk drive. There is no software on the market, no matter what any company tells you, their software will not remove the data. A good forensic expert can still strip off the data.

The only way no expert can strip the data of your HDD, is to best it with a hammer. Or remove and put in a safe.

seriously though i would tie it to the back of my truck and drag it around until there's nothing left.
shoot at it, buy a paintball gun.
get a car battery with cables and clamp the motherboard to watch it melt and spark.
throw it under a transport truck.
get a huge tree and just keep hitting parts off it, not a small one though you might kill it.
throw a magnet onto all the circuit boards while it's on until it breaks, then bring it to a repair shop and dont pick it up.
or get a truck tie a rope to the frame and tie the other end to a net and secure the system into the net, (20 foot rope would be best) then drive about 40 down a street (someone is in the back) and that someone throws it when you come to a street pole. (just like a dog, a kid, long leash, and a tree) see who wins.

I say throw it off of a roof, steam-roll it, burn it, and take the smoldering wreckage to an open field, bury it in a hole with a pipe sticking out of it, pour fireworks down the pipe, get a string, and cover it in gas, then put the string down the pipe, and light the end that sticks out and run like hell. Though you can skip the second stage if you wish, it would make for all the more fun.

If you want to make sure that all data is off it, smash it so that all sealed parts of it are no longer sealed and then drop it in salt water.

If you're looking for something more cathartic, perhaps driving a bulldozer over it might be kind of fun.

I'd have to go with a good ol fashioned homemade explosion.

I'm sure you could rig something up to take care of that.

If not, fashion some medical tubing and a harness to form a computer slingshot/catapult.

Well, if there is some one out there to purchase it, then selling should be the first option. Otherwise, if its too old or you just want to take revenge from that troubling buddy, fire a magazine at it from 50 meters with a good rapid firing automatic gun.

Run Killdisk on it to erase your HD and give it to a charity, church, youth group, or other non-profit agency, ask for a receipt and take the donation off your taxes. Don't ever destroy a tax write-off!

I like this question,,, First get the mother board out of it then dump in hot water then stab it then drill holes in it the hit with hammer, then get the hard drive and repeat hard drive andrepeat process etc.
