It can happen!

I know Dollar tests are nice and cheap, we used them too. I was surprised at how early in gave me a positive, 10 dpo, but it took a full 20 mins. to have a good solid positive line, before that you could barely see it. Then we used a First Response that same day and got a positive practically right away, so I would recommend trying one of those. Let us know if you get a positive. Good Luck

You can have a false negative if your HPT isn't sensitive enough. Try finding a test with a low mIU. First Response Early Pregnancy Test claims it tests positive with hcG as low as 15mIU.

I found this site helpful: http://www.babyhopes.com/pregnancy-test-sensitivity.html.

If you got a negative 4 days after your period, go ahead and schedule an appointment with your doctor. If you're pregnant, you'll find out and if not you can find out what else could be going on.
