Actually the dollar being weak will help the US in the short term (at least in theory). Suddenly the Canadian products that are exported into the United States will rise dramatically in price in the upcoming months. Canada will also clamour for more American goods because they will be cheaper then in the past. The US will see more Canadians then usual visiting the US on vacation and to shop because of the strength of the Canadian dollar.

Hey we lived across the bridge and my grandmother was canadian. A lot of us have our roots in Canada. This is got to be the first time in a 100 years your dollar edged out ours. Enjoy it while you can. But attack? It won't ever happen, you are our best friends and many of you work here.

Moody Red is miss informed. The Canadian dollar has bin higher than the US dollar for more years than it was less. The highest it`s ever bin is $2.36 American,But that was under a different monetary system compared to the free market we have now.Why would they invade they already own a good part of Canada.Plus we have a lot of Americans that are now Canadian`s and a lot of Canadian`s are now American`s.We always sell them everything they want.We could not ask for better neighbour's,I hope they feel the same.

I appreciate a friendly rivalry with Canadians but dont you think this maybe takes a wee bit past that?
Canadians are good folk, its our GOVT's that but heads on occasion, not the citizens. At the end of the day, Canada is as good of a friend to the US as the UK or Israel.
EDIT* My bad, I thought you were from the US. No, I dont think we'll be attacking anytime soon. ;-)

Canada isn't the only country worried about that. In my country they have recently discovered a rich vein and when they talked about it on the news there were many people e mailing in with concerns that if America found out they would invade us. And I don't believe they were being facetious.
