Did you leave (your decision) or were you terminiated (their decision). And if terminated, were you laid off or fired outright. If you were a model employee at 123 and conditions at the company have improved, then you probably have a shot to re-hire. If you were fired, I would forget abou working there again. Most employers are looking 5-10 years back on work history, so expect to either be asked about it for some time, or to leave a gap in your employment stats. Not great either way. Why not just stay at 456?

If A123 inc terminated you, it will probably stay in their records forever. Termination means that they let you go (you didn't leave on your own). Doubtful they will rehire you, but depends on the reason they let you go.

I can't say for every company but where I worked they keep records forever. If you did something serious you are most likely out of luck but it's still worth a try if you want the job.

Good luck.

Ah...lets see....termination means fired, let go, kicked out, shoved off from your job....further it means that they no longer want you because you did something that offended them and violated their code of business conduct. I do not believe they want you back and I don't believe that they will rehire you because they TERMINATED you.
