I see posts on here all the time that democrats are a bunch of lazy, unemployed loosers, sitting around without jobs, living off the government etc...... In my job I deal with these types of peope every day. .....My impression of them is that they dont have any political affiliation at all, they are neither republicans or democrats, they dont care about politics, the majority dont vote.....why would you think that if someone is so lazy that wont pick up the trash off their own floor that they would actually make the effort to go vote for anyone or anything?

It's not a perception. That implies that people are observing something in reality.
It's simply smear tactics.

Because they do vote. Maybe not all, but many do. I lived in Richmond where 80% of the population received some level of state and federal assistance. You bet they vote because the people they elect are directly responsible for the assistance they receive. There are even political action groups that drive around and bus these folks to the polling places.
You're right, they're too lazy to pick up the trash in their front yard, but most will lift a finger when it affects how much government assistance they get or don't get.
How else to you explain the fact that the only folks to win in a Richmond election are those who support the expansion of social services. It sure isn't the working folks, the folks paying the taxes that are electing them. Even the working liberals in my neighborhood, and there were many, generally voted for the more conservative...though never 'republican' candidate...because they recognized these folks represented. These 80% were supported by a dwindling 20% of the population that paid taxes. As tax payers moved out, taxes went up because you still had the cost of social services. Richmond is now a shell of it's former self.
But then, I think you knew the answer to your own question.

It sounds like black and white labeling, if Republicans are hard-working business tycoons then Democrats must be like you said. I feel like democrats are more interested in allowing the people to be in charge and the Republicans want to ignore the people and just do their job in anyway they see fit because the people they represent are too dumb or poor to do it for themselves.
I don't know if that's true. I still would rather be independant and get out from under all that rangling. They're embarrasing me and themselves. Too many questions. They're never going to have a perfect president but anything is better than Bush. I hope they finally learn their lesson about that guy. He'll just be an ex one day. He can just go back to Texas.

It's a good question. I think it implies that Republicans are so insecure as to think all people are Democrats by default and that becoming a Republican is some sort of deviation. But then, there are a lot of deviants in the group . . .

we are irrational by making use of cases. Overly emotional by making use of cases. (are not all human beings?) and a few persons play dumb simply by fact we *think of* that's what gets us interest from adult males. Media, on the instant, performs a extensive place in those forms of issues besides.

You are absolutely correct, and it is a point I myself have made countless times.
Where the "perception" comes from, of course, is the Republican smear-machine. In full gear. They are very, very successful at it, too. Well....with the weak-minded, that is.

Democrats actually work more hours and earn more than Republicans in America.

The people you're describing are the TARGETS of "feel-good" liberal rhetoric.
Democrats use feigned compassion for those people to garner support from those who are easily swayed.
The people you deal with have been a part of every society in human history. They will always be with us and historically, have been taken care of by religious and charity organizations.
Currently, religion is being demonized by the left and charitable organizations are poorer because America is being taxed to death so the government can continue to ignore the poor while championing their cause.

You are right that a lot are politically un-sophisticated, and do not vote. But they still agree with many of the free handout, babysitting style proposals of government that the liberals use to garner the posibility of them voting.

Thanks for stating a simple fact.
I think the folks who post those questions are taking a shot at the Dems who would like to bring back welfare (as we knew it) and generally FEEL sorry for the poor and ignorant. They also know that those very same Dems will not lift one finger to see to it that those folks and their kids get educated so that they can lift themselves up out of the situations in which so many are stuck.
