the planet or just the citizens of the US, one way or another?

Theoretically, we the people of the United States are the Government. The elitist money-mongering liars who represent us are merely there to serve as our proxy.

Oh, but they've forgotten that — haven't they?

Some folks say that the United States has become a corporatocracy (meaning: big businesses and ultra-wealthy business moguls dictate the way the country runs). Perhaps it's time for another revolution like the one the founders of this country had against the tyrannical monarchy in England (at that time). Or perhaps its time for an activist attitude to sweep the nation.

Oh, but wait — a revolution (or even mere activisim) would interrupt Americans' soap opera watching! Or TMZ watching! Or rental DVD watching! Or 'reality TV' watching Or marijuana smoking! Or shopping! Or whatever else we do to deaden ourselves to the numbness caused by gluttony, materialism, perversion, hedonism and decadence!

Okay, okay. The real answer is: No, the U.S. Government is not going to destroy us all — APATHY and COMPLACENCY are going to do it!

Yes the US government is hell bent on destroying every single resident of the country it governs.
The government wants to be all alone in north america with no people.
Once that's done, the rest of the planet is next.
Then the government will have no worries and have the whole earth all to itself.

No! The government doesn't want to destroy us. The government wants to make serfs of us.

Democrats work to redistribute our wealth while Republicans work to expand police powers and create new criminal classes. Democrats help with the criminal classes as well.

The bottom line is that our constitution has been shredded and there's a fight to see which party will finish it off.

The National Education Association (who educates no one!) has seen to it that the social experiment continues while denying our children access to the underpinnings of freedom.

The Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Federalist papers are unheard of in our schools today and it's been that way for a couple of decades.

It certainly appears that way. If we do not get an administration that is more fiscally responsible, more environmentally responsible, and that works more towards peace, we will certainly be in serious trouble. At the rate the republicans (and some irresponsible democrats) are going, there will soon be no clean or wild land left in our country.

They're trying. I can't drive to work because of gas prices. Can't steer anyway because I'm shivering to much from not being able to afford heat. That's okay because they're going to take the house away. I had been saving for my kids' education because student loans are too hard for us normal people to get, but that's okay anyway because one kid was killed in Iraq and the other died from a virus because we don't have health care. Dubya says I should budget like he does then I could do these things. Wish he'd come here and show me how. I'd go bankrupt and start all over, but I can't do that anymore either. The notion that we can even possible destroy the plannet is absurd. What you meant to say is that we will destroy the environment, which makes it suitable to live on the plannet. Believe me the plannet will still be here once we've all starved to death from hunger and thirst, or blown each other up.

UH, no.......if you don't like what your representatives are doing, why don't you become an activist and support those who agree with your ideas for what the government should be/do? Better yet, run for office yourself so you can have a direct effect on it.

Absolutely, the government has been destroying our way of life since it's inception. Making up laws to keep the populace in line is what they do.
Don't like it? Find a better country and MOVE.

No it won't be the US Governent, it will be your in-action and in-attentiveness. Yours and good people just like you and sadly me too. Bad things happen usually when good people do don't what they can to make sure bad people are not in power. People would much rather be ruled and "protected", than think for themselves...
