Bah. I guess I am old and from the old school. I am only 30 but I miss the combo of Pat Summerall and John Madden. They were perhaps the greatest duo that I have known. All these young people here saying that they don't miss Madden I guess never had the opportunity to grow up listening to him.

Yeah, and that is when I start looking closely at the turkey, to make sure he didn't sneak in and rip off a turkey leg.
I like Madden. Some people are tired of his "booms" and "bams", but he knows football, was an outstanding coach, and I still like hearing him during games.

(uh-oh, i think i just walked in as a losing gladiator in the coliseum and just got the thumbs down). LOL, guess it sucks to be me. Still like Madden, though.

I listened to Howard Cosell as a kid and he irritated me then even, but I kinda liked him anyway. Madden is the same, he is irritating but likeable. If I have to listen to Tony Kornholer on Thanksgiving I will puke up my turkey. I hate him and think he sucks more than any commentator has ever sucked before.

No.... The last thing I need to hear is John Madden saying
"Dan.. You need to eat that turkey... um.. um.. um.. because its a turkey. And Turkeys were born on Thanksgiving to feed Brett Favre... Bam"

Yes, and I miss the six legged turkey, and passing out the drumsticks to the days top players. He was Thanksgiving football.

I will miss Madden but not his boy Al. What if they teamed up Al Michaels and Joe Theismann would that be the worst broadcast team ever. I think so.

I actually enjoy listening to football on the radio. I feel that it is the only way I can really get into the game from a commentaries pt of view.
