and the sad part is, it's posted on you tube, and you can see this man die.

They don't have them here yet. They just use pepper spray and beat you out of camera range back at the station.

I'm live in Texas and yes they do carry tasers and a couple of people have died as a result of being tasered. The you tube thing is just wrong. Maybe he was a criminal but he still has family who will have to deal with it.

Some are so equipped and some not. All have pepper spray. The use of force is always risky whether or not one uses a tazer, pepper spray, a baton or just wrestles with a perpetrator. The instance referred to above is just an unfortunate result of the use of force. It happens. That is why people should just cooperate with the police when they are tying to enforce the law.

Yes they do, (Abbotsford, Canada)- I do believe in them; however I believe the person using them, NEED TO BE TRAINED BETTER THEN WHAT HAPPENED TO THE POOR LOST SOULS, WHOM HAVE BEEN TAZED ONE TOO MANY TIMES, OR AT ONCE BY MORE THAN ONE USER!! Too much of a good thing, a proving to be more of a dangerous weapon, then for the good of severing, and protecting anyone. (If you are referring to the Polish man, who died at the Vancouver Airport, I wouldn't be placing all, or if any on the RCMP. In my opinion I, believe it was of many faults; causing this man his life. Sad, just so sad.

and they had a Polish translator this morning on the news and he was relieved to see the cops because of what the Airport had put him through ...he told the Airport staff that he was going to sue them...I think it is very sad and I feel very sad for the mother...=-(

Yes, thank God. I work in a Pscychiatric facility and have had to call the police numerous times because a resident is out of control and I cant get near him to administer meds. The police come and they use their tasers. This allows us time to apply restrains and adm IM meds to sedate.

never seen them around here and i heard about a lady who got it at least 5 times with a taser. she didn't die though and the guy had no reason to do it so much

I'm not sure if they do or not out here, I'm too much of a good boy to find out! they say those can't kill you but I'm sure that 50,000 volts would have some impact crossing your heart especially if you have a pacemaker.. if i was ever shot with 1 of those i'd make sure i was close enough to the shooter so i can grab on to him and let him feel the jolt too!

we just got them here in rocksprings wy, and i know someone they tasered 5 times. imagine thepain he went thru to. he didnt die but it sure h urt like hades he said.
