I used to have a youtube account, AnimeStadium that ended up getting suspended because I made a video based off of the anime show Inuyasha and i got reported by a company that makes computer software?

I don't get it why would they want to do that? They have no rights at all to the tv show and what should I do with people like that who want to report me?

I would file a counter notice but that usually involved court and I'm too young to be able to do something like that. do you guys have any advice on why would they do this and what to do about it?

You need to remember that a software house will have lists of copyrighted material, they may also be part of a bigger group that have software rights to something used in the show. It costs these companies a lot of money to create and maintain software, so they will always report anything which may a affect their return on the investment. It could have been worse, they could have taken you to court, also there was a recent criminal case brought against a 12 year old girl indicting her for copyright theft, and the possible fines quoted were in the region of $150,000.00. She also now has a criminal record.

You're going to hate this response and may not even understand it, but here goes. They may just be law-abiding citizens who don't like seeing others break the law and YouTube's rules.

As to what you should "do with people like that"? Nothing. You got busted (I notice you don't even deny or defend your actions). There's an easy way to keep it from happening again: Don't do it again.
