Due to the fact that he resigned with the Yankees? Or did they get off the hook when he opted out? How does that whole thing work?

The Rangers still owe Rodriguez some money that was deferred from earlier years of the contract; however, they do not owe any money from 2008 onward, since that contract was voided when A-Rod opted out.

Not since he opted out. They would have owed the Yankees $21 million but since he opted out, the contract no longer exists. That is why the Yankees hold a little bargaining power on AROD. They are the only team willing to pay alot of money but he cost them the money from the Rangers.

No. They had owed $21 million on the contract he signed with the Rangers and he was playing under with the Yankees, but when he opted out that went away. This new contract was negotiated completely independently of the Rangers so they don't owe any money toward it.

Since he is opted out of the contract , I think the Rangers are off the hook for the final $ 9 million of the previous contract.

i think of it fairly is yet I even have self assurance that the contracts are purely that if the communities do no longer grant sufficient money to any participant that's efficacious they'll bypass someplace else so the gamers notably plenty call for a definite quantity like Alex Rodriguez and mlb communities bypass out and pay it reason they want a robust franchise.

No money that's owed due to the trade with the NYY, amounts to $21 mil over 3 years I believe.

I bet they are very happy.

Do you think that the Rangers paid some money to A-Rod under the table to do what he did so they could save some money??
