ill be the first to criticize a-rod or rather get pissed at him when they're choking games away but the fact is at the end of his career he'll be considered one of the greatest to ever play the game, he'll have the home run record, rbi record, etc.. Compared to the rest of the league his post-season numbers are just fine.. i mean look at lets say matt holiday in the post season this year.. he hit .290 and odds he wont sustain that over 4 or 5 post-season runs like a-rod has. U can't say a-rod isnt clutch either cuz look at how many game ending home runs he had in the regular season, and u can argue that well thats no pressure its just a regular season game but anytime its the ninth and ur team is down and ur up.. thats pressure.. i think once a-rod gets the ball rolling and the yanks make another post-season run his numbers will get way up there

Dear ssshadi,
It's really hard to say. Personally i think part of the reason A-Rod choked so hard these past several post-seasons is the NY crowd. A-Rod is too talented of a player to just choke like that -- it's obviously very mental and who knows whether he can handle it if he strikes out the first time he comes up with men on base.
In terms of jumping ship- A. Rod has never been able to produce in the post-season and i don't think that has anything to do with his post-season slump.
He better produce or Yankee fan will turn on him -- just like that. i think the Yankees need to get another bat to protect him- so that he can get some better pitches in the clutch.

i love the yankees and that i love A-rod. he's the perfect low radar participant interior the game. He in basic terms cant take the media or stress. he will choke if givin the probability interior the playoffs back. look on the way he changed into hitting homers and then interior of a week of the media making a huge deal of it poof no longer one for the reason that. he's a choke artist. He has hit 40 homers each and every twelve months for like 10 immediately now and in the experience that they presented tommorrow that one and all mlb gamers records were being taken away because of roids and the hot list changed into 35 he wouldnt get there.

There should have been ABSOLUTELY no reason for Arod not to have been settled.
There is no extra incentive for him to actually perform in the playoffs, he doesn't get paid and the amount of playoff money is very small when compared to his salary.
He has only ever had to think about baseball, but clearly the only thing that has been on his mind is "Am I the highest paid player"
You can bet if salaries escalate and he doesn't keep that title, he will be moaning about it.
I think it's pitiful that the Yankees can come out and say " that it no longer would negotiate with A-Rod because the decision eliminated a $21.3 million subsidy from Texas that was negotiated in the 2004 trade." then come back and accept him.
If you are going to run with your tail between your legs, how about not advertising that it's not there to begin with.
Love or hate, they used to be a 'storied' franchise, now, heheh, they are a laughing stock. Let's face it, the NY Yankees actually NEED Alex Rodriguez.

A-Rod has a career .279 batting average and 7 homeruns life time in post season. These are really not bad numbers for anyone except for A-Rod. Over time, as he plays in more post season games, his numbers should come up to levels he is more accustom to reaching.

it's hard for me not to throw in a little A-Rod hating. I really really really hate the way he plays the game! I will try though....shoot...did I just do it? Anyway.....
As long as he plays for NY, he will have mental issues. Playing in NY, Boston, or any big market club, doesn't exactly clear a players head. Some players are cut out for it, and some aren't. In my opinion....A-Rod isn't.

Do you think he was doubting his financial security BEFORE this deal went down? If he underperforms (based on the standards set by his ridiculous play) for any length of time, either during the regular season or in the playoffs, he will get booed. This will continue to affect him the same amount that it did before he started making $27.5 million a year.

A-Rod isn't clutch. When he has the pressure of carrying the team or situation, he folds. When the Yankess field a all around team that works together to win, A-Rod will shine.
