Who has been the best Mexican player in MLB?

I would say Fernando Valenzuela. He was an extrordinary pitcher who won the rookie of the year and a Cy Young award.

Valenzuela has been the most honored, but for an everyday player, I'd take Bobby Avila. He won a batting title and helped the Cleveland Indians win the Pennant in 1954. He was a good fielder and runner, too. He's been retired for almost 50 years and dead for a few, but he shouldn't be forgotten.

The guy below who mentioned the Rockies reminded me of first baseman Andres Galarraga and third baseman Vinny Castilla, both of whom lasted longer than Avila and were good power hitters, even outside the elevation of Coors Field, pre-humidor. So I'll say Galarraga 1st, Valenzuela 2nd, Avila 3rd, Castilla 4th. There were also a few American-born players of Mexican descent that could be listed.

Probably Fernando Valenzuela. He played an integral part on a couple of Dodgers World Series runs and really put Mexicans on the map in terms of the major leagues.

There are off course a lot of great Latin players now (such as Miguel Cabrera, Vladimir Guerrero (Dominican) but i think in terms of players from Mexico it's gotta be the King of the Screwball.

I think some of the Rockies' pitchers are Mexican. Those guys are pretty good.

In the world baseball classics, he is the only person to represent both the USA and Mexico. Quite intriguing fact, isn't in.
