Barry Bonds was a good player BEFORE he juiced up. he got into the Major Leagues, and was doing really well. why couldn't he just except his talent for what it was. Everyone can't be the best, and that is the beauty of sports! why can't Barry and other steroid users realize that. Why not TRY to strive to be the best on YOUR NATURAL ability or the talent/ability you worked at to develop. What did he tell himself when he hit number 756 and crossed the plate to hug his son. what did he say to justify the fact that he took steriods? i just don't get it.

Before he started juicing, he was arguably the ideal baseball player. He would've been one of the greatest ever. Complete package before cheating. Oh well.

You never will understand because we don't know what goes through the mind of someone like this. You know he believes that the "end" justifies the "means" and he probably got in way over his head and couldn't stop. The list might be a long one and there are surely others to follow.

Not defending Bonds...I cant stand the guy. But the thing about Bonds is he WAS the best before he started using steriods. Probably one of the best of all times, but he never got the recognition because of Sosa and Macquire, who both abused steriods. I guess he got sick of them getting all the credit that he deserved. He got jealous and started juicing. its a shame

What is the shame of it all is , all of those future baseball players that sees all of this and thinks the only way to get ahead is to abuse drugs. The one to feel sorry for is Barry Bond's son who, unfortunately, will bear the brunt of his father's sins.

steroids are a drug of abuse just like heroin or cocaine. after using a few times their neuron receptors send messages to the brain to deliver the needed substance. the brain will then tell the person all kinds of things so that they may justify their actions and feed their addiction. it is a viscous cycle.

yea it really doesnt make any sense. I guess its greed that does the players in. They see the amount of money that theyre making and realize that its really good, but they also realize that they could be making more money if they were to perform better. So, this greed causes them to turn to the onyl way they know how to to get instantly better (hypothetically). Thats how i see it.
