I attend a business college and I have learned that important skills and qualities that are useful for having a job include oral and written communication skills, good critical thinking skills (or problem solving skills), and computer skills.

these aren't for getting hired, but more for keeping your job, or being useful in the workplace:

hard working,
good work ethic,
helpful,
willing to learn,
willing to be taught,
cooperative,
not unfriendly,

to get hired:
credentials,
reasonable appearance,
skills,
flexibility,
reasonable wages
