has Oregon released any official statement on that? A knee sprain usually isn't season-ending or the national championship would be decided by which team has five offensive linemen left at the end of the season.

Belloti said Thursday night that he is "probably out for the season". It seems like a tear of a ligament, but Dixon (thus far) has stayed positive. He is scheduled to have an MRI Friday morning in Eugene, we'll know more after that.

In any case, he shouldn't have been playing Thursday night. I would have been totally fine with a decision to bench him for the game (even if we lost) so that he'd have more time to heal before UCLA. The announcers on ESPN said that he had been lieing to the coaching staff about his progress, but I have to wonder how much of a role Belloti played in encouraging him to play.

I don't know if he's out of it for the season, but Oregon's chances of a National Title ended last night.

ALL of the contenders who will jump them will probably have to lose again for them to be a factor again.

I hope not but my guess is yes. No official word yet as Dixon is getting his MRI today. Maybe we'll know something by this afternoon.
