I am Japanese and live in America. For the SAT and college, how should I go about taking a foreign language? Do I need to take one since I'm a foreign student? Can I take Japanese on the SAT Subject Test? Thanks and all help is needed. **10 points immediately!

I believe you can take the test without having to take the class.

I am a native Spanish speaker, and I took the Spanish IV AP exam (the literature one, it's supposed to be the most difficult level). I also took the lower levels without taking any Spanish classes in high school because I knew they would be a breeze for me. I made 5's in all of them with no problem.

Thanks to those AP credits, I didn't have to take language classes in college. It was a great deal.

My college had a foreign language requirement that could be waived if you already knew two. Just call the admissions office and tell them.

Some degrees require them and some dont. You can always test out and get credit.
