everything appears normal when ignition switch is turned on, then when ignition is tuirned to crank, all instrument lights go out and nothing happens with the engine....NO Start at ALL!!!

Battery...or it's connections.

Your battery is either very weak or open when it is loaded with demand. It also could be a very poor connection at the battery posts, starter, ground terminal on block, or the power connection under the battery. You'll have to check.

Clean you battery connection with baking soda. Scrap surfaces with a knife to get fresh metal contact.If that does not work you probably have a bad battery and it must be tested or replaced if necessary
