A lot of people been telling me to pray. That will help me bring my baby to term.
When I ask them if they have tips on how not to loose my baby again, they tell me to pray.
But I never prayed before.
I don't know how.
I don't believe in the christian God but I do have a religion but 'praying' is not part of it.

Does that mean that I will keep having miscarriage because I don't have the right religion?

What else can I do to keep my baby?

OMG what a..... geez.

Your baby is in the hands of whatever god you believe in. If praying isn't part of it, then HOPE instead and take care of yourself.

The christian God isn't going to kill your baby because you don't believe.

Everyone is basically telling you that YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BABY BEYOND WHAT YOU DO TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.

Oh sheesh....praying isnt going to stop a process that you have no control over.

Please dont beat yourself up over a loss you cant control.

Prayer is a way to make yourself feel more relaxed and at ease, like meditation. Focusing on a good outcome will make you feel more positive, but it wont stop something that is physically happening to your body.

Rest, see a doctor and try to understand that not all pregnancies make it to term...for one reason or the other. God has nothing to do with it. Its nature...sad as it is.

I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and didnt even know it...I was told it was due to a genetic abnormality, nothing I did....like 90% of most miscarriages.

Im sorry for your loss and pain. I hope you find peace in the nature of things.

Your question opens the door for alot of extremists to tell you that religion will save you and your baby. This isn't true. I am a spiritual person, but honestly, dear, biology is what is the issue here. Eat as healthy as you can. Take folic acid. Try to limit your strenuous activities, and try to divert your mind for stressing out, because stress effects every part of the body. Miscarrige can not be blamed or prevented by a higher power wether or not you believe in one. I wish you the best of luck. And there is no doubt in my mind that when your baby does come you will be a wonderful parent.

it doesn't mean you are going to keep having miscarriages! if you are praying to GOD, then you must believe he exist. otherwise, whats the point in praying if you dont belive that he is real? Thank God for your life and ask him if its in his will that you have a baby soon? Just talk to him like any other person. Tell him everything! He wants you to be able to talk to him whenever and wherever! GOOD LUCK! GOD BLESS :)

I believe there is power in prayer. If you believe in God then just talk to him, that's what prayer is. My prayers are with you, may God bless you with a baby! By the way I don't think it's because you aren't praying, there's probably another issue like stressing too much or family history...

Hi Artemis,
I'm glad your concerned about this. You say that you have a religion but 'praying' is not a part of it. Why don't you consider praying to the all powerful God? Even if you don't know who that is. Ask God to show him self to you and help you.

i dont think that is the case. i think people just suggest you ask who ever you believe in for your baby to come to term. I am catholic and was raised this way. i dont really go to church but ever since i was little my mom taught us that there has to be someone out there watching over us, whether is be a god, kharma or something and you thank them sincerely for all that they ahve blessed you with and the opportunities that you get and then you just ask for those you care about like your baby to be kept safe, strong, and healthy. some people dont have a religion and dont believe in anything but in my heart it just helps you know. i dont think you have to be an avid church goer in order to believe there is someone out there watching you and looking over you. my mom always said you can always worship and admire within your own sanctuary your home and that is what i do.

Praying only applies to people who use that as a tool in their lives and believe in that religion.

You don't have to apply other people's religious practices to your own life to have a healthy pregnancy.

No, you won't lose your baby because you don't have the 'right religion'.

There is no such thing as a 'right religion' and a 'wrong religion'. Anyone who tells you otherwise is very self-centered in their own belief system.

wow um i dont think you not praying to god is the reason for your miscarriages but you definately need to get something straight with your religious beliefs. if you are that unsure about it then obviously the religion you are practicing is not the right one and maybe this will challenge you to search for what is right.
