After some 30 odd answers- wow most of you folks read a heck of a lot of your own opinion into my question? I gave NO extra comments to insult anyone-
Just a bare question
- wow! some of you just love to rip apart others-

Daffy so far has the most fair answer-

Rant Away? but there is really nothing here to base that on except that the word "democrat" is in the question -

touchy - aren't we??

Oh Boy! You probably opened a can of worms with this one. All I have to say is, the democratic party isn't what it used to be. Seems to have lost a lot of values. Then maybe that applies to the whole world not only the Democrats. Good Luck! Don't forget to vote.

Like the first answer states, we're all just people man. There are flaws with the way that democrats want it and there are flaws with the way the Republicans want it. There is no perfect ideology. Certainly none that every single American can wrap their arms around. What we can really hope for is that the two mesh together in a productive way that makes most people happy. Obviously, making everyone happy is impossible, but the goal should be to make both sides happy in a compromise. I know I've taken my jabs too, but honestly everyone is so extreme and stubborn here and places the absolute extremes on the other side. The fact of the matter is that the majority of the country is moderate and leans one way or the other. What's wrong with Democrats? What's with all the extremism?

Good point, sorry for the ill assumption. It's easy to get overly defensive with everyone seemingly always in attack mode around here. To answer your question I would say. They currently have an image that lacks a certain strength, definitely lacking a swagger. I realize that the last two elections have been very close and controversial, but for instance I know a guy who changed his democrat status to independent after the last election when Kerry, after promising to fight if the election was controversial just rolled over. There is too much pandering, even now with the President's approval rating being so low and everyone running on and publicly taking a stance that they will fight him the push for change and the push to force him into a position of compromise is far too weak.

I don't see a lack of values in the party. I actually very much appreciate the core values of the democratic party.

That there are too many neocons, like Hillary and Joe Lieberman who pander to the Republicans, in the name of bipartisanship, and would do anything to get elected. Bi partisanship is a ship of fools, which keeps the Democratic Party from taking a robust position against Bush's War, corporate welfare, and torture. Many of these Democrats also want to stick it to immigrants by denying them driver licenses and building a Berlin Wall at the Mexican border. Paul Wellstone,Pete Stark, and Dennis Kucinich are the real Democrats, we deserve.

Get your invitation to rant here!

Good night nurse.

EDIT - I didn't say your question is a rant. Look at the answers. It is an invitation TO rant, and some took the invitation

(The wording though, if we are going to critique it, is based on the assumption that here is something (singular) wrong with Democrats. Since you didn't quantify what you think is wrong or qualify---some Democrats, most Democrats, a few Democrats--then the logical assumption from the answerer is that you meant ALL Democrats, and you and I both know that no one thing is wrong with every single Democrat. Don't be so quick to judge the "misreading" of the answerers unless you are first sure of the clarity of the question.)

The first thing is they need to quit appeasing the Republicans to try and win some votes.
Stick to the core principles and go after the corrupt lying whores.
Time for the Democratic party to grow some cajones and fight for Americans, not succumb to the typical. Americans really do want change. 75% think we are on the wrong course. So Democrats need to steer a new course not subliminally agree to the old broken course.

Pretty simple really. They were all set up to run on the anti war, Bush is bad, quagmire in Iraq, theme and it's coming apart.

The electorate is weary of the same old Bush bashing, the war is winding down and every indication is that troops are starting to come home before the election.

Now they got nuttin'

They're flying around the room like a loose baloon engaging in a political food fight among themselves.

It's disturbing.

The question you should be asking is what is wrong with the republicans that they betrayed America?Bush ignored national security and terrorism until after we were attacked. Why didn't the republican lead Congress have an impartial investigation into the attack?
The 911 commission was a sham of a coverup!
