A faction of democrats in the North

They opposed the civil war and wanted immediate peace with the south. They blamed the abolitionists for the war. So....the answer is obviously C....the were northerners who sympathized with the south....

C. Northern sympathizers for the south who were basically Northern Democrats and Whigs who did not support the administration of Lincon in the conduct of how the war was conducted and who sided with the South on gthe issue of slavery and states rights.
