Paperwork needs to filed to the court. The judge will decide if the childs best interests will be served by granting the action. The child needs to be self sufficient. The child will need to provide good reasons for requesting this. It is not as simple as many kids think.

Just call the court house to the States Attorney's office, and they will tell you the procedure to allow this. You will have to sign if your child is under 18 years of age.

Don't know where you live, but it is different in different states. In Texas, the child has to already have a job and are self-sufficient, and have to prove why it would be to their benefit to be separated from their parents. It's probably similar where you live, but just google it and you should be able to find out.
