This is a great lively debate, and its healthy. So why the childish reporting behavior FROM BOTH SIDES?

Of the 5 times I have been suspended ( 5500+ points) mean nothing to me, as I am not here for 'points'. I happen to have a lot of experience, having traveled, lived and worked, around the world, and observed over 50 different governments, political entities.
Of the 5 suspensions and "bunches" of violations, I did deserve 1 suspension for an asinine answer.
Only once have I 'reported' anyone, and that was when a brand new account came on with some of the most vulgar / sex / scatology I have ever read on any Internet communication !! Apparently, that 'turkey' received about 20 'reports' in 10 minuets.

I am not here to worry about getting reported, I'm here to get some feedback, good or bad, on my opinions, and to offer my own insight into how things are. I don't even believe reporting people should be an option. The practice of reporting perceived abuse just marginalizes the debate and waters down strong feelings which need to be aired.

I don't get it, either. Clearly, we know how to communicate. Why can't we just do that?

The rants on both sides drive me nuts. Some days I ignore them, and some days I argue. Maybe my own arguing is part of the problem.

The thing about rants, I've said twice today - those who agree don't need to hear the music to know the song, and those who disagree will not dance to the tune, regardless. (Three times now - does this make it qualified as a rant?)

Yeah, it happened to me yesterday. I gave a thoughtful well-thought out answer to a complicated question and someone who didn't agree with me, choose to report me for a violation. I don't have the time to go through the Appeals process for a silly 10 points, so it will just stay off my tally.

It won't end.

I hate people who report! Just ignore impolite things and leave it alone!!!!
I have had some pretty nasty answers to questions I have asked and I have also been reported on for answers I thought were harmless. It is rediculous!
People have a right to say whatever they want to say!

I agree. I was notified yesterday of a violation because I told someone to keep their day job their attempt at humor was pitiful.
Come on.

A mirror of so many people, they must have approval to feel accepted. They feel uncomfortable when ask why. Weak and pathetic.

The other day someone asked a question about Fred Thompson and my response was: "yyyyaaaaaaaawwwwwn" and believe it or not, I got a "Community Violations Notice" sent to my email. Go figure.
