I understand if foun guilty perjury, which would be really hard to prove , is wrong, but we're still talking about a game. Wouldn't it be better to just erase his name from the records?

I agree. If he is convicted of perjury and obstruction, he should be given the same punishment that is given most offenders of similiar crimes. If that is a fine or if it is probation, so be it. If it is jail, so be it. He should not have a get out of jail free pass just because he is a millionaire athlete. If convicted, he should go to jail if that is what would happen to some poor schmuck from Jersey if convicted of the same crimes. And of course the record should be erased.

I say if Barry Bonds goes to jail then they need to not only take him but every other baseball player and all the other sports that mena nd woman play and just stop all sports together and quit fingering on just one person that would be the best thing to do.

He would never go to jail for what he was accused of doing, but he probably will for lying to the grand jury if they can prove it. He didn't have to say anything to the grand jury to implicate himself but if you elect to talk you have to tell the truth. He has created a real problem that is going to be hard to dig out from.

I would just like to see him go away. And take Floyd Landis with him. Lance Armstrong, too. Don't forget Mark McGuire. I'm sick of doping in sports. I don't care if it's illegal or not, it's simply killing sports. There are much bigger issues in the world. War, starvation, disease, terrorism, racial intolerance, just to mention a few. Why we focus on a bunch of overpaid crybaby stoners is beyond me.

If he broke the law? yes. Should he lose his chemically enhanced stats? If the courts prove he took all those drugs, yes. Should he be inducted into the hall of fame? If guilty, no. Is he a pompus @$$? yes. Does any of this really matter to me? no.

We're not talking about a game or his record. What he is going on trial for is lying to a Grand Jury. It's that simply, he laid his hand on the Bible, said he would tell the truth and didn't. (Or so they claim)

If we commit perjury and interfere with government investigations we would go to jail. So why shoulden't he?

Honestly I think he should go to jail. He lied on the stand and he also should have his record taken away from him.
