Here's the deal. I've actually contacted Yahoo regarding this issue because of my stalkers. This is what I've learned.

If a user reports you, you will receive a message that says in the subject line "Your answer/question has been reported by the y/a community".

If you receive a "VIOLATION NOTICE", it does NOT mean you've been reported by a yahoo user. It means that a y/a auditor has decided your answer or question was in violation of the guidelines.

It was explained to me that when YOU report a question or answer, they will look at your q/a history to determine if you're an upstanding yahoo citizen as well as look at the q/a you reported.
They also do random audits of all users accounts. So chances are, if you have a violation from a question that was closed weeks ago, it's becuz they were checking you out.

I'm so tired of people complaining that their haters are reporting them. In my time on here, i've only received about 10 violations due to being reported by a user.

I've received HUNDREDS of violation notices....but that doesn't mean I was reported.

Thanks for listening!

yep which is why I asked my q the way I did earlier...I have had a lot of community ones, especially on that account they gave me back and took away

not every violation is from a troll or stalker

I wonder why I never get a notice for a question or answer that I posted. I have the option set to receive them?!

Thats good to know. Ive only received the one kind of message.

Now I know its the YA admins who are the snobs and not the actual YA users.

Wow, my answer has violation written all over it.

I always had a feeling it wasn't other users...but never had the proof in the pudding, nor really had the umph to care too much, it's all a game and I but a pawn.

My sincere thanks for going through that to show us all!

I wished everyone Happy Diwali and the question was deleted after I chose a best answer. Why? Care to enlighten me?

so it's just Yahoo biasing the questions to get rid of the ones they don't agree with. That's interesting not surprising but it's very interesting to check in to.
