Owning up when you're in the wrong and taking the consequences is part of growing up. Your friend would stand a better chance of getting back into the library if he apologised properly and promised to behave better in future than by showing all this aggression.

The law doesn't come into it. It's a matter for the teacher's (or librarian's) discretion.

I believe you are asking if you can be trespassed from a public building. The answer is yes. The government has a right to order anyone out of its' work areas for any reason. ( Note Congress exempted the government from the laws prohibiting discrimination ).

You may exercise your Constitutional Rights outside the work areas, such as pass out leaflets or hold a sign and talk to people on the sidewalk out front as long as you don't interfere with someone else's rights.

So as long as you don't block other people from using the side walk, print up some flyers and hand them out to the people going in and out of the Library telling them you think the Librarian sucks.

The librarian or security can remove someone from the library... either a private or public library.

There was a court action recently in Sunnyvale California... banning the homeless from the library because of their appearance and unique odor... the court upheld the librarian's decision.

Whether you think the reason is valid or not has nothing to do with your being banned. You broke "their" rules and the punishment was to ban you and they have the right to do that since they are the overseers of the property. Learn to respect others and their property and you won't have problems like this. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime
