I can understand feeling like that, I'm sure I would too if I wasnt in a guild that has mostly older players. My guild started on another game so I didnt have to look for it, but they are out there, you just have to look for them.

I don't think any people in my guild are under 21, actually. While I would guess most are in their mid twenties (I'm getting dangerously close to 30), two players are over 50 (my mom being one of them, lol). I don't think they're out of place at all. While I'm sure this could happen to some people, we love our old guildies! If anything, it shows that WoW is a truly universal game; people of all ages, races, and sexes love it.
Don't feel uncomfortable for enjoying something that "younger" people enjoy. It shows that you're in the know. If all else fails, join our guild, lol.

In my first guild that was the case. I was the oldest person there by almost 15 years.
I then found a guild made up of most people my age.
There are plenty of 30+ people playing, you'll be able to find them out there

jack perry is a lame...how is it wasting your life if you enjoy what you are doing? isnt he wasting his life telling people they are wasting theirs? mebbe he enjoys trying make people feel inadequate.
but to the point, im 31, and i see a lot of young punks out there being screen warriors and crap talkers trying to get a rise outta someone cause they are immature and disturbed individuals..however there are a lot of mature ones as well.
i use the time on there to keep tabs on the venacular and the trends of the younger crowd..sorta like infiltrating the enemies. lol. im going to be a father soon and i want to know what the hell the kids are doing.
and their are guilds out there who dont want those immatuer types. even though some slip through the crack, they will definately let theirselves be known.
just do what i do and make use of the ignore button, that seems to work wonders on those pesky little whipper-snappers lol

If you're just a casual player, that's the crowd you're going to be dealing with. Most random guilds are filled with immature noobs and should be avoided.
Once you get into end game (if you're not already) it's a lot easier to find people to play with who are more mature. I'd look on your realm forums to see what guilds are actively recruiting. Browse their web sites.
Good luck!

nah..maybe you just paranoid dude, im not over 30 but lots of the dudes online there are really old..its a fact that majority of the..heres an insert from an article about the ages of players..
''Who Plays MMORPGs?
The largest source of information on who plays MMORPGs -- and why -- is the research of Nick Yee. According to Yee, the average age of an MMORPG player is 26. Twenty-five percent of players are teen-agers, and 50 percent have full-time jobs [source: Yee, demographics]. Although statistics differ from game to game, about 85 percent of players are male [source: Yee, gender]. However, Yee's data comes from voluntary surveys of players themselves -- since this is a self-selected group, the numbers may not be as accurate as they would be from a truly random sample''

I am a new player, and I'm 61. I don't feel out of place because my character is shielding my real identity. There are a lot of older players, but by far most players are young.
