How many people cheer and root for the university they went to? I'm just curious how many peoples favorite team is the school they actually went to, or do you support another team and why?

I never got into college football until I I went to FSU - now I can't cheer for any other team but the Noles.
Occasionally I'll go to the Illinois games because they're the closest college team to me and a lot of my friends went there, but I don't have any loyalty to them.

I've been a Nole fan since 1989 when Dieon Sanders was there. I wanted to play football for coach Bowden. I ended up going there and worked in the atheltic department with Coach Bowden for 2 semesters. I've followed them through the good times and the bad. Just glad I worked with the national championship team when I was there. Feel sorry for all the students who don't know what kind of team is coming out to play. Always a Nole though!

George Mason University doesn't have a football team so i cannot cheer for them. I am a Gator's fan though. I went to a game in 1993 and never stopped cheering for them. Through good times and bad times, I support the Gators.

I have always been a Buckeye fan but I went to school at the University of Toledo. Toledo area is also were I'm from
I root for both Buckeyes and the Rockets. I think they play in 2009 and I will be rooting for the Buckeyes over my Alma mater.

I cheer for Pitt because I am from near Pittsburgh. I somewhat cheer for the school I went to, when I know who they are playing. I moved from the Pittsburgh Region so don't really know much about the school I went to. I think they are like Division 3 or something way down there, so yeah not really going to hear about them, short of living in the region they are in or going to the school site or something.

My favorite is LSU and I was there for my freshman and part of my sophomore year. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University.They didnt have football until well after I graduated, but Im a fan of the Mighty Lions.....even though they totally suck.
**I try to cheer for the Alma Maters of some of my family members too like TCU(dad), LSU(mom), and of course when they arent playing against LSU I pull for Tulane(sis).

I cheer for the school I went to but they are not my favorite team. UAB doesn't have much of a football team.

Yes... pretty much. Alum of Cal, wife is alum of OU. Did grad work at Georgia and I rooted for them while I was there, but don't get to see them play as much now. OU is hometown now.

I graduated from the U of A, but my favorite team has been and always will be Oklahoma.
