How easy is it for anyone to have an affair? Yes security is around all the time, but those people are paid to protect not ask questions. People with clearance are in and out all the time. Once you're in, you're in...and no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. As far as the First Lady goes well I imagine it's easy to send her to a speaking engagement or some other state function, to get rid of her for a few hours.

To do so many not be so difficult because the President's power and charisma may be very attractive to some. To some degree the President is protected by his staff and his toadies. On the other hand its not hard to get caught either by the press or enemies on his staff. The US is a very moralistic country. The French thought nothing of President Mitterand who had a daughter with his lover while continually married. Its curious that Democrats like Grover Cleveland, JFK, and Bill Clinton are pilloried about this. Maybe the Republicans who seem , jaded boring and hypocritically moralistic like Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes don't have as much success.

I'm pretty sure every President has had at least one affair in office. (Maybe no Carter, because he seems too "goody two shoes") Come on, Regan, an Actor, he had to be rollin' in the interns, and Nixon probably couldn't get a date until he became the most powerful man in the free world. Kennedy? Well, I think we all know about Marylin.

Read up on how Kennedy did it.
He makes Clinton look like a friar.
He had a whole secret service section dedicated to getting women in and out of the White House.

Secret Service are sworn to -- uh -- secrecy. Still, I think it would be quite difficult to find the right person to have the affair with. It couldn't be a blabbermouth. That's where Clinton went wrong with his choices.

Well, it isn't hard at all. The one's who weren't cuaght at the time: Kennedy, Eisenhower, FDR, possibly Lincoln (with a man!) did the deed in the time when the press considered this behavior to be off limits to reporters.

All Secret Service cares about it keeping him alive... what he does other than that is his business, not theirs...
In other words.. they know.. they always know.. they just keep quiet about it.
