We all believe in equality right? The difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Republicans believe in equal opportunity where as Democrats believe in equal outcome...like communists. Think about it.

Both parties generally want an increase in state power and size of government. The main reason being that most of the voters are the baby boomers and they, nearing retirement, are depending on that entitlement system known as social security.
Now to respond to the comment made about human rights vs national security. The president takes an oath to defend the constitution of the United States of America. By violating ones human rights it's safe to say that you are also violating the constitution. Now do we really want to live in a society that accepts and even encourages the governments ability to break the law in order to uphold the law? I'm assuming this generally boils down to torture which is the proven medieval method of getting the person tortured to say whatever you want them to whether true or false.

Realize that they deny it, but their candidates all made it clear last night that this socialized health care crap is their primary concern. Also, when asked what is MORE important... National Security or Human Rights ... they could not answer the question.
Considering that the President takes, as part of his oath, a solemn vow to defend the Constitution and the United States, don't you think someone basically applying for that job ought to know what it entails?
Out of the bunch last night... I can tell you that the only one the Republicans need to worry about is Biden. The others are Insane Clown Posse Liberals from Howard Dean's camp.

Are you serious?
libs may want a nanny state but cons are actively working towards a police state where no one is free but lives only under the govt's permission.
Freedom for All> Really? Then why did the previous conservatives all do their best and succeed in getting rid of Habeas Corpus in direct violation of the Constitution? They have been in violation of the 5th amendment for years........I find it hard to accept conservatives understand and respect freedom when they want it to be legal for government to spy with no restriction or oversight and to be able to detain anyone, anywhere for no reason or charge or limit of detention.
jpc8015> maybe libs are like communists but with the fascist dreams of the Republican party I hardly call them equal opportunity..all they do is steal power from people and make big brother bigger and more invasive

Consider the LIBERAL standard of living created after the New Deal and the purchasing power of the dollar in comparison to the CONSERVATIVE model, which has left the almighty dollar and wealth in the hands of a few. Just last year after the passage of the minimum wage bill...the purchasing power of the dollar was equal to that of 1951. Think about it...it's 2007.

ok, so, you're asserting that somebody like me has on no account suffered of their lives and ought to no longer understand the turmoil that existence can provide, and as a consequence will become a liberal? extremely? you assert you're undecided if it is it, i'm able to inform you fairly definitively, it is not. Liberals have not got compassion for murderers and rapists, we understand that there are subject concerns inherent to the way we presently cope with them that make that gadget no longer in elementary terms incorrect, yet massively previous, and it makes it possible for much less potential for those people who're chanced on responsible to be vindicated (as one in all those great form of are). Nowhere in that assertion am I attempting to confirm that we are no longer quickly much less merciless to those people. Liberals and conservatives come from all walks of existence. Many have experienced an identical struggling of their lives, and are available to different conclusions. Why is that incorrect? Why is that undesirable? who's to assert which opinion is stable or incorrect without observing the placement logically? in basic terms by way of fact somebody is a murderer or a rapist, as an occasion, why would desire to our gadget dole out in elementary terms vengeance as a substitute of justice? Why in elementary terms seek for the quickest end to that guy or woman's existence as a substitute of ensuring that justice is served in the case and completed properly? those are the questions that liberals like myself think of on, and that does no longer imply we no longer quickly lack in struggling or understanding of what it incredibly is to lose a kinfolk member.

Generally I would say the difference is the ability to read and think critically. Conservatives have the ability to read and understand the principles of freedom and liberty enshrined in the Constitution, and liberals do not.
