Your question confuses me for 2 motives a million) you're saying that your FIL is amazingly sick after which you ask us to direction him with the aid of aspects that are genuinely one hundred+ miles from the closest scientific institution and the place cellular telephones do no longer in many situations paintings>carry a CB 2) You let us know which you FIL gets bored genuinely after which you ask us to deliver him down the boring roads like US ninety 3 or US ninety 5 in Nevada the way that i might do this holiday is that i might initiate with the aid of drawing a rectangle with those tough limitations I-ninety is the northern edge I-5 is the western edge I-10 is the southern edge I-25 is the eastern edge i might then use I -eighty to shrink that rectangle in 0.5 initiate April a million in loss of existence Valley NP and spend the subsequent 6 weeks doing a counter clockwise loop of the southern container Then head to Sacramento and do a clockwise loop of the northern container. go away this Q open and that i will fill interior the information the following day

The Ballard and Freemont neighborhoods of Seattle. Very hippie and Scandanavian. Very laid back. Both very cute towns with stuff to see.
They are located in the Northern part of the city, across Lake Union.
Definately Eugene, Oregon. It's a toal hippie town and the college there is very 'Green'.
Good luck!

Madison Wisconsin is a very cool small city. No high rises, lots of parks, 5 lakes, plenty of places to shop. Don't miss State Street or Williamson Street, aka Willie Street. State Street runs between the state capital and the UW campus, lots of interesting places there. Willie Street is where you'll find the older hippy-type crowd.
Oh, and 3 excellent microbreweries!
If you want someplace warmer, check out Asheville, NC. Just ignore the bible thumpers.

Ashland, Wisconsin and Madison, Wisconsin are both huuuuge hippy towns. Madison is much bigger. Ashland is small but has Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. Lots of people living off the land. Lots of transplants. Northland College is there and brings in a steady stream of fresh blood. The winters get long. And people drink. A lot. ok matt
