I asked this question yesterday, "Is it right to make homosexuals feel bad about themselves to make them follow your beliefs?" I gave information from this question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApakCUrPSavQXqcEvGevbKnsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071115090115AA3LliX&show=7#profile-info-vNpsT0cgaa. I pointed out specifically the Pastor's answer. Which MANY of you chewed me out, acting like I was the Pastor. Again I am NOT the Pastor, I quoted him, and said that.

My question was removed, I reported the Pastor's hater answer, and it's still there.

I didn't attack him in anyway (I'm still not either) or the other person's question. I wanted opinions on how his answer made people feel. So how did I offend any of you?

I am by no means looking for someone to say, "yes I reported you" But I was thinking, 'are you kidding me?!' when I was reading responses. Had anyone even gone to the question I was speaking of, they would have seen ME and my answer... as well as the answer I was questioning... I'm glad some of you still know me. :)

Wickey you are right I do go out of my way to NOT offend people on here.

Mister Moo you are right and his answer sickens me... People like him are the reason I do not attend church anymore. It's easy for someone to point out YOUR sins, but I bet he keeps his well hidden in return...

motochic: while I respect your beliefs, why is it fair for you to hold me or any of us to YOUR beliefs? His answer is a hater answer to me. In the fact that he made that lesbian couple feel bad about themselves then said he hopes they will pray their sins away referring to their homosexuality. So perhaps you need to put the shoe on the other foot here. I've already worn that shoe and seen Christians in full action around me...

It is said that opinions are like assholes--everyone has one and everyone IS one. That being said, the supposed lesbian couple went to this pastor for counseling..it was their choice...maybe they just found religion. Whatever the reason, he has his opinions and we all have ours. Even YA! We try as hard as we can to be kind, insightful, understanding....but life sucks. Do not take it personally Jyse, I myself have never been offended by any of your answers. There are days when you can't seem to get all the bugs off of the windshield. I applaud your continued efforts.Keep your chin up,love.

Well, quite frankly, it isn't fair (but to be honest I haven't seen the question) as far as I can tell. I know you, and know what kind of guy you are, so I assume that the question should NOT have been deleted. As for the pastors answer to that one, I am not sure if it is a violation of the TOS or not. I suspect that what he said is NOT a violation of the TOS, except in maybe that it is not relevant to the question. But they have been letting that slip for a long time now.

As for how his answer makes me feel, it bothers me that he has made a complete generalization of ALL homosexuals based on 1 case. It also shows that he in no way understands the idea of homosexuality, and how we are pressured into hiding and denying it by people like HIM, then when we finally get the strength to come out, they make it sound like we are changing our minds. I believe the man know NOTHING about the issue. He is just following in the Christian belief that what THEY believe (or better yet, what they are TOLD to believe) is right, even if others have a different interpretation.

Jyse, I knew that you weren't the pastor not only because I read your question from top to bottom. I think I kind of gave you a heads up because some people were getting really angry at you for thinking you were that Pastor. You didn't offend me in any way but the Pastor did. You're a good person for not attacking him, some of us don't have the high degree of patience such as you! Do take care! ;)

edit: Okay. So I read the Pastor's answer again and I was doubly offended when I saw his picture, and I don't know why. It's not fair at all to have your question deleted. I didn't even think it would be. Geez.

I missed your question, but from reading the Q on the link, I think it is obvious that you have in no way offended those of us who matter, and that the small minded bigots have been on the loose again :(

I do feel offended by an answer I see above me, where a certain person seems to feel that being gay {and I bet she'd say the same about those of us who are bisexual}, means you are the same 'group' as pedophiles, murderers and alcoholics!
Somebody clearly needs to get a *real* education.

Edit :~

I *knew* someone would thumbs-down me for this.
I think some people need to grow-up.

No it's not fair.

Unfortunately, neither are the people who reported you because they didn't have the courtesy to read the question properly.

You will always come across this lack of respect amongst people so you should not take their stuff to heart or in any way feel bad about what is ultimately someone elses ignorance even though you feel like you're on the receiving end of it.

You are one of the sweetest most caring people I know, and as I'm not ignorant you can take THAT to heart.

((((hugs))))

I noticed the confusion yesterday and I wondered if that would happened to you. I am guilty of not reading questions completely and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I now know to be very specific in my questions and maybe (because this not a face to face communication format) not ask complicated questions.

Dearest, The Yahoo Gods are idiots. Considering the Pantheon is made of humans who are as fallible as you and I and who are now relying on other humans -- and worse computer programs -- to police their Flock, they have become as untouchable as if they sat behind a wall of glass. They don't hear us, they don't see us, they don't care.
You didn't offend me and I love you the same as I always have. If others took your Question wrong tell them to bite your cute little Cottontail, Bunny.

Most gay people, including myself, know they are gay their whole life but because of the stigma and the fact that our society is made for straight couples it's very hard to accept it. Many can not admit they are gay until later life even though they have been gay their entire life. That pastor in your earlier question is a freak!! I hope God forgives him for being so hateful and yet pretending to be a man of God.

Is saw no problem with Pastor's answer. He doesn't hate anyone. Your the one who is the hater. He's speaking the truth so on what grounds do you think his answer should be removed? He never said he hated anyone. I think your the one who needs to get a life. I believe homosexuality is a sin and you are not born that way. Are you going to report me because of my beliefs? I guess that would make you a hater. Get over yourself.

If the lesbian couple didn't think they were doing anything wrong then how could anyone make them feel bad? And why were they going to a priest for counseling in the first place? Priests are not here to hate anyone or spread hate, but they do have to preach the truth. That is his job. Telling someone to pray for their sins is not hate. Jesus himself would embrace someone who turned to homosexuality, but he would not condone it. People are not born homosexuals, pedophiles, serial killers, alcoholics. These are all choices we make everyday. We are all sinners.
