Mexico fans, wait till Jozy Altidore breaks into the US first team....he will succeed where Donovan, Ching, Twellman, etc. have not. Altidore and Eddie Johnson are the future.

having Giovanni Dos Santos still doesn't help Mexico beat the US....what's their head to head record for the past couple of years. It seems Mexico can only beat the US while playing in Mexico City so who really cares who you have at striker since Mexico still ends up losing the game.

Brian McBride is still better than all of them.

Mexico by a mile.

Here are the Legends:

Hugo Sanchez
Carlos Hermosillo
Luis Hernandez
Jared Borgetti
Luis Garcia
Cuauhtemoc Blanco
Zague

** Omar Bravo and Kikin Fonseca Honorable Mention because they used to play really good and did alot for La Selecion.

Here are the current forwards, and future stars:

Nery Castillo
Juan Carlos Cacho
Giovanni dos Santos
Carlos Vela
Omar Arellano
Cesar Villaluz
Luis Angel Landin

USA's Legends:

Eric Wynalda
Brian McBride

USA's current good forwards:

Landon Donovan
Freddy Adu
Jozy Altidore
Clint Dempsey
Damarcus Beasley
Eddie Johnson*
Brian Ching*

* = they suck

As you can see, Mexico wins, and all of the players on Mexico's list are better than all of USA's list except for Adu and Altidore, but Gio and Vela are better then them.

Well you probably are biased and are going to give the best answer to someone that says the US.
But the truth is Mexico.
The majority of the US strikers are in the Mediocre MLS and even there they are not great players. Its true that the US has beaten Mexico lately but Mexico still has a better Overall record. Mexico always plays better and tries to make the game entertaining for TV and its fans but the US could care less cause nobody is watching them. They just sit back and wait for a counter attack. It might work once or twice in a game and it will give them the victory but the rest of the game they play horrible. Mexico may lose but the fans are entertained. You can't deny Mexico has better talent, but the US has better training facilities and its athletes are mixed from around the world and in good physical condition. Look at Ogyewu, the man is a linebacker and comes from Africa, Adu was made a citizen just to play soccer. If you go down the list you'll have a Brazilian, couple Argentinians, Africans, Italian, Mexican-Americans and all sorts of nationalities. The US still only beats Mexico and nobody else.

Mexico has Castillo(Shaktar, 7X Greek Champion), Gio(Barca,U17 WC Champion 2005), Cacho(Pachuca,2X Mexican League Champion, Copa Sdamericana 2006 Champ, Copa De Campiones Champ 2007, SuperLiga Champ 2007), Vela(Osasuna-owned by Arsenal, U17WC Champ 2005), Bravo(Chivas-might sign with Deportivo La Coruna in Spain, Mexican League Champ 2005), etc...
These guys are great players, have won championships and most play in Europe in good teams.

Sure Altidore has promise but he is still green and hasn't won any championships.

At the moment? Being objective...

McBride is currently the most successful active #9 from CONCACAF & Nery Castillo is the most successful active 2nd Forward. I consider that a tie.

If we look at depth... Cacho is the next best proven #9, followed by Omar Bravo, Miguel Sabah and Antonio De Nigris.... then there are a bunch of mediocre #9 in Mexico (like Rafa Marquez Lugo, Aaron Padilla etc.,) that are roughly the same level as the Eddie Johonson's & Taylor Twellman's of the world.

As 2nd Forwards... looking at depth... Alberto Medina & Landon Donovan are about a tie, then there is Sergio Santana, Alejandro Vela, Adolfo Bautista,

Its no secret Mexico has greater depth... the U.S. plays tough & they always work hard, seem to have a bit of luck... and usually get better results than their talent level would indicate... but honestly with the talent Mexico has... you can build 5 teams like the U.S.

Yeah... there is lots of excitement about Dos Santos, Vela, Adu & Altidore but right now if the World Cup started next week the U.S. would have to field Twellman or Eddie Johnson paired with Donovan or the dude from Texas that thinks he is black.... and Mexico would probably field Cacho & Nery Castillo...

In my opinion... the U.S. forwards would be weaker than in 2006 (McBride + Donovan)... but on the Mexican side Cacho + Castillo is much more effective than Borgetti & Guille Franco / Omar Bravo version 2006... so based on that I can only conclude that Mexico - at this moment - has better forwards than the U.S.

hello David...we meet again

to answer your question....

Mexico has the better forward now. My reasoning is that right now they have great forwards who are at their peak, and many young ones just starting out who are good also

-Nery Castillo
-Juan Carlos Cacho
-Dos Santos
-Luis Angel Landin
-Carlos Vela
-Omar Arellano
-Villaluz

and also the most famous US forward is Landon Donavon. i know you like him...but you have to admit he is not what he was....and to say that other American forwards cant compare, well...that sucks. I do for some reason like Brian ching. i think adu is OVERRATED big time. the only other one i will write about is Beasly. i think he got it....he is not as large a star as Donovan when He should be.

Mexico-Gio dos santos,Vela,Nery,Bravo,Villa luz, Cacho,Blanco,Medina,Peralta, list goes on and on

USA-Altidore,Adu,Mcbride,Donovan and gues that it every one else is bad.

So i say mexico does, also altidore what has he done, same with Adu but i do have respect for Donoavan and Mcbride.
