I don't know what a "Quits place" is?
Las Vegas - has great restaurants and entertainment. You can spend as little or as much as you want - desert setting.
South Shore at Lake Tahoe, Nevada side - mini Las Vegas in a beautiful mountain setting.
Myrtle Beach, SC - beach, touristy area with lots of entertainment. Great BBQ in the area. No gambling, but they got a gator attraction.
What is the best place for me, you might find boring. Las Vegas I can take it or leave it - but if you want to pack the best and worst of America in one place - Vegas would be it. Take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon if you go there.

I am from a very touristy town in northern Michigan by the name of Petoskey. It is so beautiful there. We have all kinds of different lodging facilities from bed and breakfasts' to five star hotels and chain hotels as well. But the real way to get the real up north experience is to rent a cottage or a cabin on the lake. We are located on the northern tip of Lake Michigan and the views are the greatest I've seen. In the summer, there is swimming to enjoy, of course, parasailing, boating...tons of fairs, carnivals and bizarres to attend. Local farms hold farm markets and you can get some of the best and freshest food around. In autumn, there are fall colors to see. Some of the rich reds and oranges are a pleasant sight to the eye I tell you. In winter, there's Boyne Mountain to ski as well as several other skiing hills to discover or get on your snowmobile and really get into the feet of snow we have just around Thanksgiving and Christmas. And don't forget to check out the different Holiday light shows that are just about everywhere. I could go on and on but if you want to see for yourself go to discoverpetoskey.com and see the wonders that make up my great state of Northern Michigan.

I'd take Seattle into consideration. There is always something going on, it's not as expensive as many others, and Vancouver is ferry ride away if you have the time. ok matt
