I've painted the quarter round already and want to install it to finish off my dining room. I have oak hardwood floors and I am doing this myself, with no knowledge or possession of a nail gun, so I am wondering if I can do this with "No More Nails" instead. It seems so much easier to glue them on. I don't want to screw things up if the glue is going to damage the floors, but the advertising on the No More Nails product says it is designed for such usage as trimwork.

I would use nails, they will come out if you ever need to remove the moulding. When nailing through trim like quarter round, clip the point off the nail so that it is not a wedge. It will go into the wood without splitting. A nail gun will sometime make marks on the trim that will have to be filled. With a hammer and a punch you won't do this.

No More Nails is a fantastic product that works very well. If you ever decide to remove the baseboards for whatever reason, you are liable to rip the wall board right out. If you are sure you will not need to ever remove the base boards, then yes, use the No More Nails.

Rent an electric 18 gauge finish nailer. Seems the clean-up of the liquid nails would be worse than repairing the nail holes. Also, as stated above you have the option of removing the trim at a later date.

Certainly! Brand names aside; check the directions. Liquid Nails" offering a variety of applicable uses; suggests press; pull away; allow 15 seconds; then press again. What that accomplishes, is an effect similar to contact cement.

Do the application on the face of the ROUND that attaches to the cove base, NOT the floor material.

Initially, and "immediately" after application; even liquid nails squeeze out can be cleaned away with water/wet rag.

Nails offer the option to remove, glue (e.g. no more nails) does not. No more nails is not a substitute for nails.

ps. you don't need a nail gun, a small hammer will do, with a punch to bury the head and avoid hammer dents.

Don't use it. You won't be able to get it up again.
