A little bit, I don't see the harm in if he's been eating a wide range of food. Usually at 1, you'll give them a bday cake so really what's a few months. Congrats!

I think you could give him a little bit of cake. Just don't put to much in his mouth at one time. If he is making chewing motions he should be able to eat cake. I started my daughter on some table food at 8 months which includes cake. It shouldn't be a hazard because the cake breading falls apart in little crumbs and it's soft enough. Hope he enjoys the wedding and the cake!!

Sure he can have SOME... Everything in moderation... My son is 9 months and he eats whatever we have.... So if mommy has a little piece of cake then so does baby! I just give him small pieces and not a whole lot. He will be fine. Congratulations on the new baby and the upcoming wedding!! :) May God bless your new family!

My genius mother thought it would be cute to give my son a 'taste' of cake & icing when he was about 4 months old. Freaked me out, but he was fine; not even gas or a tummy ache that I could tell.
Giving him a LITTLE BIT of your wedding cake won't do any harm as long if he's not severly allergic to any of the ingredients.
It's ultimately your call, but I would do it if I were in your position.
Congratulations & have fun!

My son didn't have his first bite of cake until his first birthday, but I'm sure it will be fine. Just give him a little 1 - inch square without much frosting, and make sure he's well supervised and it's mashed up well - you don't want anyone choking at the wedding reception! Congratulations!

If he is eating states 3 food or can eat solids then he can eat a cake. Cake is soft. I would give him a LITTLE piece and see how he does with that. Maybe mix it with some milk until the consistency is mushy so you he won't be as likely to choke.

You could always buy a small cake a week or 2 before your wedding and see how his tummy can handle it. If no problems, then alittle bit is not going to him. Just don't give him a full slice, too much sugar and cream.

I think its fine to give him a little taste..Just dont give him too much at a time. I didn't give my son cake until his first birthday, but that doesnt mean I wouldnt have, we just never had a birthday party or an occassion where I had the opportunity to give it to him.

It depends on the ingredients in the cake. Aside from the sugar, the batter might contain egg, milk, wheat.
While egg yolk can be introduced earlier, egg white is considered commonly allergenic and it is recommended to wait until 1 year to introduce (even in baking). Wheat is often recommended to wait until around 9 months.
