OK, it is clear what the answer is so I am not even going to be pigeonholed into whatever catergory you are trying to create. Why even ask?

One who stands strong on his beliefs, but I'd have to agree with his beliefs in the first place.
I'd have overthrown and killed the leader if he was blindly obeying the law.

Well, Saddam was a leader who stood strong in his beliefs
It has to be a little of both. A leader must have his own ways and believe, but at the same time, his ideology must be within the law all the time.
A leader who believes in killing and oppression doesn't make a good one either, while at the same time, technically he's still a leader that stood in his beliefs all the time

Presumably, should a leader be elected, he would have a belief system which is congruent with a majority of his people. So I would want one who stands strong in his beliefs. There are too many who just go along with the flow and don't challenge to system.

A leader who stands strong in his beliefs. I do not follow people who act like a flock of ducks. Nope, not this lady. Laws are made to be broken. Especially, ones that we all know are ignorant ones.

You can tell the republicans that have answered this...
I would think if there is a law for this (whatever it may be) situation someone has done it before and in the end it was decided that this (the law) would stop the leader from going nut-so and just doing what he wanted according to his beliefs or whatever...

I would respect the one who stands strong in their beliefs. The law isn't always right.

as salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.
Insha'Allah, infelxible laws condemn more than they save, especially when such fails to take into consideration extenuating circumstances, etc.
As an example (although a poor one, sorry) : A man passes by a lake and hears someone cry for help. He looks to see a person drowning. He immeidately goes out into the lake to rescue that person (wheteher he is or is not successful is not the issue). He is arrested for braking the law as it is clearly post "No Swimming When Life Guard Is Not On Duty". If a life guard had been on duty, the man would not have had to rescue the drowning person but the law says...
Insha'Allah, some beliefs benefit others as well as ones self. Others can be just as damning as the poor example sited above.
What are the persons beiefs and how are the laws worded and interpreted (or, is the fire better than the frying pan)? Christians once thought that by folowing their beliefs they were to save many a native culture throughout the world, they were to save Jews by forcing them to convert, they were to save witches by drowning, buring and hanging them....
Insha'Allah, it is hard to choose due to the limited scope of your question but it is a good thought provoking question (have a star).
Ma'a salaam.

the one that stands strong in his beliefs. There are to many followers in the world. We do have to have structure and laws, but there is a point where one has to fight for something they believe in.
