I would like to put a faster processer in it, what would be the best processer to get and what speed should be recomended? Overall I am upgrading my comp and trying to make it a little faster with a small budget.

Hi. Depending on the board you may be limited to Athlon XP 2100+. The max chip speed for the 462 type is 3200+, which is what I am running. I have an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe version 2 which supports 400 MHz FSB. I'm happy with it (for now!).

Find out the make and model of your motherboard and look up the fastest CPU it will take.
Go on to Ebay and buy the best you can afford.
You don't say what operating system you have but increasing the RAM to 1Gb or more if you have Win XP will help your system run faster and you can pickup memory cheaply now.
Also installing an AGP or PCi graphics card will help if have an integrated one now.

Well its a fairly old socket type. The best processor would be a Sempron Barton series 3300+ or a 3200+.
