"color", our perception of a narrow band of wavelengths that our eyes can detect, belongs to "something".
"something" emits light (visible or at other shorter or longer wavelengths) or reflects it, allowing us to "see" the "something"
"nothing" does not emit light that we can see or wavelengths that intruments could detect.
"nothing" does not reflect visible light or other wavelengths that would allow "it" to be seen.
"nothing" is invisible to us because "nothing" cannot be seen because there is "nothing" to see.
if you postulate "nothing", why would you expect it to look like "something?"

Yes certainly, it would have had no any color, hadn't it had anything . But the color is not only determined by itself but the light intensity and other things will certainly affect and the color may seem to be like Blackish Brown.

black is defined as the absence of light.
white light is a mix of all colours emitted by our sun added to the blue of the sky. You can show that by allowing the light from the sun to pass through a prism that breaks down the while light into the (almost) continuous spectrum.
If the universe were nothing, then there would be nothing for to give you no pain (sorry, wrong song)
If the universe were nothing, then there would be nothing to generate photons, therefore no light.
It would be the Colour with no name (damn song, get out of my head)

Color is a human perception. No human, no color. And since humans cant see "nothing", "nothing" has no color.

The answer is white. Black is a combination of all colors and white is the absence of color. With color deriving from light however, if there is no light there is only black.

This has been pondered by man for a long time,, The best I can come up with is that the human mind is to small to imagine what nothingness would look like,,

It would be lack of color. Or....preception is ones on reality, meaning whatever you preceive it to be would be what was real to you.
