my first baby was difficult to deliver, he weighed 9lb 11oz then my second baby weighed 11lb 6oz and got stuck. it was very scarey, his face was dark purple and badly bruised. let me say i am not a big woman, 5 " 4 and weigh 9 stone, people assume it must be diabeties but they are wrong, should i risk another baby getting stuck or have a c-section? i am terrified of being cut open, this baby is meausing very big again, possibly another 11lber, im 34 weeks pregnant now! helppppppppp!!!!!

ok people sorry i forgot to say i was totally against c-sections unless it was life or death but my consultant said pushing out another baby that size could go great until the very last minute when the head is out, she is usually against c-section but said it would be safer for baby and me. but im so annoyed with myself because for me labour was the best part. ive been tested for diabetes and dont have it so they say its genitic.

You cant choose to have a c section your OBGYN does. Talk about your concerns and maybe they can say something that will make you feel better. C sections are only done when the moms or babies life is in DANGER or if the baby is not faced right when its time. Having a big baby is not threating anyone's lives. Believe me a C SECTION is NOT the greatest thing in this world. If you dont have to have one then DONT!!!

If you are likely to have another big baby and are concerned then I'd consider it... No point in having extra stress going into the delivery process because you are concerned with the child getting stuck again. Talk to your doctor about it, they should be able to give you their medical opinion based on your past experiences and what this baby is measuring/weighing already. Best of luck, God bless!

There has to be a reason for the big babies. I have diabetes and don't have babies that big. Your doctor should have been watching more closely. My doctor said the vaginal is the only way to go if you can. You heal faster there is alot less pain. And I had twins. I was afraid that there could be problems and figured why risk it but he said please do it natural. And I am glad I did.

Your OB will probably suggest one to you knowing your history if there is a concern about problems arising.
They can do an emergency section during labor if they have to. I would avoid it because c sections are dangerous for everyone- and unless its an emergency they shouldnt be done.
But you can totally make that call for yourself, if you're worried about it and cannot rest then it might be the best choice for you both.
Talk to your OB

Wow. Normally I would say no, but since youve alreayd delivered two with those results...it might be best, or else speak to your doctor abotu an early induction when baby has not gotten so big yet.

It is your choice
However c sections are much more common in difficult births and have very good safety ratings especially for the child. It sounds as if it might be a good idea in your case.
Have a good day and good luck

c section sounds like a safer option. if baby #2 got stuck and you think this baby is possibly another biggy then id go for the c section

I think the best thing would be to talk to your doctor about your concerns. Being cut can lead to alot of other things like scaring on the inside whoch can lead to alot of other problems. So talk to your doctor.

Talk to your OB about your concerns..They might be able to induce a week or two early so that you dont have an 11 lber again!
