Had every intention to leave today to go camping. Inner voice told me staying home was a better plan...I heeded it. Nothing negative was attached to messege to stay home, only, that it was the better "plan"
Have you ever been in a similar situation?
Do you listen to your inner voice?

Margasta: Thank you, too, for sharing your stories. I agree with you, inner voice only relates positive/good messeges... what is best for you.
The "mutt mobile" would have made the hour trip alright... the messege I am receiving is... someone needs you here.
Inner voice was correct.

Get this straight whoever you are. There is nothing at all called an inner voice; it is nothing but a mental condition generated by pseudo religionists, pseudo-psychologists and spurious weriters on the theme. It is a ruse developed by novelists and their likes to give credence to their wooly thinking. I have closely read a great deal of authentic thinkers who all say the same story that it is another name for indecision. It is just a hunch or feeling which you resort to when you are unable to make a positive decision . It is really another name for what is normally called second thoughts. There is no place for such crude affectation in logic or reason. All persons do have time to reflect on their first feeling which when on second thoughts become refined by reason. Many thanks

Yes......All the time. Some of the best things have happened to me because I listened to my inner voice. There were some instances where I heard the voice and argued against it and that's when stupid things happened to me, HAD I listened I could have saved myself some problems. I'll give you a couple of examples:
We have quite a steep driveway and I was about to walk down it. My Voice said ..." Change your shoes, (my name)" .(...I was wearing smooth slippery soled shoes.) and my response was " Nah......I'll be OK, I've done it before"......Well I carefully walked down and just as I had one step left before the bottom I stood on a slippery bit and slipped over and broke my wrist then and there. HAD I changed my shoes when prompted I would have been OK.
Another time I was driving in my car and the voice said..." Change lanes...(my name)" I looked around and in my rear vision and there wasn't a car anywhere is sight. I replied to the Voice,..." I'll change lanes after I get past these pedestrian lights,"... so I was waiting for them to change to green when suddenly out of nowhere a guy rams into the back of my car whilst stationery in THAT lane. Then I had a massive argument with him! HAD I changed lanes when prompted I would have been OK.
I've had heaps more experiences. My voice prompted me to ring a guy I had met.......kept saying "Ring him, ring him" and I kept saying "Nooooo!" then in the end it was "Alright, alright..I'll ring" So I did and he came over and we have been happily in love for over 10 yrs.
I found when "the Voice" prompts you and you answer back NO.......you should do as you are being told, no matter how things look. Your Inner Guide only ever tells you good, positive things and that is what you pay attention to. At NO TIME do you listen or act on anything negative being said to you. People who have a voice urging them to do harmful or wrong things have got a negative thought form stuck in their minds which is like a recording that won't switch off.
In the case of the Asker of this question, HAD you have gone ahead with the camping, I feel that something would have gone wrong like a car break down..... but you will never know because you didn't go, but that doesn't matter because you are safe. Yes heed that little voice, sometimes it is just a whisper, it is there for your protection and well being.

All the time. I went on a school residential trip. My inner voice told me not to go....well I had no choice in the matter, my parents had paid and the bus was leaving soon. It went okay...until I fell out with a friend, rushed at by bulls and hopelessly lost in and orienteering task (2+ miles in the wrong direction).
It may sound weird, but sometimes I think it's as if, either we do have a 6th sense or as if God is giving us a warning.

Interesting question! I think what we call "inner voice" is really listening to your body. (Researchers have shown - in some really detailed studies - how your body recognizes things way before you cognitive mind does.) I have listened to it at times - it depends how strong it is. (Because sometimes there's that worry that people will think you're nuts...)
But once, when I was in my mid-twenties, I just had this strong sense that something was wrong with my sister - 3 years younger than I am. She was house-sitting for an aunt; I couldn't get her on the phone so I drove to the house (only like 10 miles but it was through a snow storm.) She didn't answer the door and there were footprints in the snow so I knew she had walked the dog at some point not too much earlier. I couldn't get ahold of my father or stepmother plus they totally would have thought I was crazy. I drove back and started throwing stones at the bedroom window - I really just knew something was wrong even though there wasn't anything that I could verbalize about it rationally. Finally, I went back to my parents' house (still not there) and called the police to tell them that the alarm would be going off because I had to break a window to get in. They said they would meet me there and they broke in. She was unconscious after having tried to kill herself. She's okay now but it was really serious - she was critical for like 3 days. Looking back, I can see little, tiny signs (like giving people really expensive Christmas presents the week before - not caring that she was draining her bank account) but none of them were enough to make my thoughts recognize suicide potential. (Enough for my body to feel it though, I guess.)
If I ever had a sensation like that again - like that something was happening to one of my kids despite no evidence - I know I would act on it regardless of how crazy I seemed.

Very interesting. There have been times in my life where I listened and it ended up saving me some trouble. Maybe I will focus a little more on that "inner voice".

Yes. I always listen to my inner voice. It is there for a reason. That instinct dates way back in time for people. Everytime I have not listened to my inner voice I have been very sorry.

All the time.. Inner voice is your conscience filtering just the good part of ideas passed through to the intellect.
This is the reason why philosophers argue that man is by nature, good..it is his worldly universe that help make him evil.

I always had an inner voice but i almost ignored it everytime, now i realise that it's always right.
Like for instance, if i have a decision to make and my inner voice tells me one thing i do the other thing and it always ends up that my inner voice is right.
