I think children are so pure and innocent, that they probably wouldn't even notice what his skin color is and it wouldn't make a difference. The older ones may ask questions as to why Santa's skin is darker this year than it was last year or why does he look different. So I don't think it would necessarily hurt anything. But in keeping with tradition, Santa begin in Europe so traditionally he was white. Good luck. 2D

I don't think it really matters what race Santa is, although I've always found it strange that you never hear the Asian or Hispanic communities wanting a Santa that looks like them (and yes, there are Asians who celebrate Christmas!). I think that Santa was traditionally white because the idea of Santa Clause is an old European tradition.

Santa has no colour. If the manager is a good loving man then he can play Santa. All that really matters is that he's good with children. Santa is the Spirit of Generosity and Good Will. There is no colour boundry in that. Blessings, Dear One.

You will freak a lot of kids out because the traditional Santa is always white but go for it, it is a wonderful thought and a great idea.
It is the thought that counts.

i really like the "traditional" Santa, but honestly--it doesn't bother me. Santa can be any color out there---he really represent more of the "spirit of Christmas"--you know--peace, love, tolerance--so the color just really shouldn't matter.Anyone in a red suit makes a great Santa!

Why not,? Santa isn't a color -- he's a manifestation of the twinkle in childrens eyes, I guarantee it's the red suit not the color of the occupant that puts it there. To children Santa is ... period. HO ! HO ! HO! (for our Aussie friends that are stuck with their form of P/C)

Santa should be whatever color people choose him to be, since he is fictional anyway.
I'm sure there are much moer important things in the world going on than to be upset at the race of Santa.

What does it matter? Do you think that when children think of Santa they are thinking of his skin tone? That is prejudiced and stupid. And strangely Saint Nicholas (the man whom Santa Claus is based on) was Turkish (middle-eastern) so he wasn't white anyways.
