Is it because they've lost their credibility on the issues ?

So Bill got a BJ and Hillary has forgiven him... SO WHAT !?
Nobody is vilifying the other 10 million woman in America who've done the same thing. I mean seriously... what does the relationship between Hillary and Bill have to do with her ability to run the country ?...NOTHING ! It's a private matter, that has nothing to do with politics.

I really don't see how attacking Hillary for something like that is going to help Republicans win... If anything, I think most people would consider this inappropriate "dirty" politics and would be turned off by it.

Thank you. That is what I have been saying forever! It is a shame people can be so petty, they can't look at their own party first! Just try to smear the other side, so even their embarrassment would look good!

Examples: The War On Drugs created by Reagan. This was in reality a war on the poor, law enforcement and Republicans are taught that if you are living in a poor community you must be on drugs. You become a target, and are constantly harrassed by law enforcement thanks to Reagan. Ronnie the Union Buster Reagan again did what he could to make the blue collar worker poor. Once Lasaiz Faire came about all the coal mines, and Steel Mills on the east coast closed down. The Unions didn't kill this industry Reagan Did. Reagan did more than anyone ever to increase the gap between the wealthy and the poor.

Oh please, the reason why people comment on the fact that Hillary stayed with BJ Bill is because if you are going to run your campaign acting like you are a feminist then you have to take your jabs of staying with a lying, cheating husband just to further your political career.

i hear your frustration.

and, how can you divide your life into areas where you are honest in some of them and not honest in others?

Bill Clinton wasn't a one time skirt chaser. He was and is a repeat offender. Not to mention abuser of power, etc.

So why would Hillary continue to put up with him? Why didn't she publicly and messily divorce the jerk?

from over here on the right, it seems like a calculated political play on her part -- which shows that her ambition is so overwhelming that she'll accept nearly anything that gets her there.

after which we observe suspect campaign financing featuring apparently illegal donors and foreign influence, not to mention a penchat for secrecy [her infamous national health plan, the Rose law firm files, etc.] and we come to the conclusion that Hillary is not a person we trust to do the right thing.

It scares the heck out of the Republicans to talk issues. They know that if they do they will lose big time so they resort to childish name calling and personal attacks. Some how they believe the Rove Plan will still work. They will be surprised this time around. If they keep it up the Democrats are sure to win by a landslide.

Remember, the GOP is the "Family values" party. Never mind that Giuliani had his concubine living in his house when his (then current) wife was there. Never mind Larry Craig's restroom proclivities. Never mind Gingrich divorcing his wife while she was on her deathbed. Never mind all the other abuses of power committed by this party. These are the politics of personal destruction. They even do it to each other - remember what Bush did to McCain in the run-up to the 2000 presidential election? BTW, contrary to what someone else said earlier, Edwards didn't initiate a "vicious" attack against Cheney's daughter - more hyperbole by the neocons.

I agree with you that a person's private life should stay private.
I think that the ONLY criterion you use is the person's vision for America, and where they stand on the issues.
There are attacks on both sides, however.

Clinton was vilified because he LIED UNDER OATH.

When will you clinton lovers tell the truth?

And democrats never attack republicans private lives right?

Hypocrite

And we dont need to attack hillarys private life.

Just reminding people the only thing the woman has run in her entire life is her mouth. She is not qualified to run this country.

There is no time for on the job training.

It beats me because the private lives of the Republicans, particularly Giuliani, can't hold up to close scrutiny. It would be very easy for the Dem's to counter attack on personal issues and not even break a sweat doing it.

I agree with you on that point. It is no one's business why Hillary stayed with Bill. I could care less about Bill's BJ's also, the problem with Bill was his lying under oath.

So, which republican candidate attacked Hillary SPECIFICALLY about Bill's affair? Something tells me you can't produce a link...
