Steve Yzerman, and if you don't know the reasons, you don't know hockey.

PJ Axelsson- He's a great 2 way player, doesn't make mistakes, and makes his team better when he's on the ice. Just a great hockey player.

All time...Gilbert Perrault..(HOF Buffalo Sabres)when it was end to end rushes, picking the puck up behind your own goal and flashing down rink with Rene Robert on the right and Rick Martin on the left..everybody in the arena moved to the edge of their seats. Hewas a fun-loving guy and if he had more killer instinct he would have been even greater., but for pure excitement I'll take him.

All time --- Al MacInnis

Now --- Hasek

I got into following hockey right about 1990 so that entire era of players in that decade and who ever is still left now have always had a special place with me.

Stan Mikita:
Exciting player to watch, if you were lucky enough to see him play back in the day. Electric with the puck, very physical, and soft hands around the goal. As a little kid I loved watching him and Hull live at the Chicago Stadium. I appreciate many of the stars of recent decades and today but the game was not as wide open then and man could this guy play.

The best is obviously Gretzky.

But my favorite player was Steve Yzerman. Not only was he a great player, but a great leader too. If not for him, Detroit wouldn't have won the three Stanley Cups in 97, 98 and 02.

Mark Messier. He played a big role in the Rangers killing the curse of 1940, when the Rangers won in 1994.

Favorite current player is Ales Kotalik, and I'm not really sure what made me pay attention to begin with. Its not like any of the Sabres are having a fantastic season, so I'm not really put off by his performance right now, but he strikes me, very much, as the sleeping giant type.

I'll probably take some heat from this but I love Chris Chelios, the best ever American born player. It is amazing that he has remained in such great shape that he has played well over 20 seasons. He is still a great player! I mean, he rides an exercise bike in the sauna everyday. That is dedication! Not only that but he has a cool restaurant in Detroit downtown by Comerica Park, Cheli's Chili Bar.
