differently as opposed to what? they booed him before - and they'll continue to boo him. nevermind the fact that he's the reason they even made it to the playoffs at all last year.
yankee fans should be used to great players who ask for obscene amounts of money.
i'm not all that surprised by the yankees renogotiating. they're one team that will spend whatever it takes.

Nah. They'll love him redder and hate him blacker, but the unhealthy codependency will continue whirling around like an emotional maelstrom.
15-May-2008: ARod smacks four home runs, drives in seven, Yankees lose 10-8. ARod is seen as "slacking" whereas a clutch performance would have included a fifth, game-winning home run, plus two scoreless innings of relief pitching.
06-June-2008: ARod clobbers bottom-of-the-tenth, walk-off three-run HR, scoring Cabrera and Jeter, winning game, 5-3. ARod is seen as "showboating" since a good two-run double would have won the game in more modest fashion.
The fans and Rodriguez will never have balance and harmony. So it goes.

followers come out of the woodworks at the same time almost as good things take position no count number number what crew we are speaking about. Do the Yanks even choose Pettite? Sabathia Burnett Wang Chamberlain Pettite? precisely how a lot are you planning to spend on a #5 guy?? LOL Moose. There you flow. The Yanks are stacking themselves. they are going to end in very last position, a useless ringer for the Tigers. Or no longer. good to work out between the further unswerving Yankee followers decrease back, yet i have been getting a touch drained of the Yanks. because of Tex signing, the crew will in difficulty-free words get the yankee's 2d round %.(that is virtually a third), as a replace of the traditional 1st. stay remote from Sheets regardless of the reality that, we choose better than a 4th or fifth round %. for dropping our longtime ace. :)

Ann - you're wrong. I was at Yankee Stadium for every Saturday home game in 2007 and A-Rod did not get booed even once. The fans have really warmed up to him since he started performing up to expectation.
I don't think this will change anything. He never said he didn't want to be in New York. He just wanted a better deal, much like Mo does now.

I like ARod, he is a great player and he had an amazing season last year, but he asks for ALOT of money. He is already the highest paid player in baseball history and yet he asks for a major pay raise. I mean, why does anyone need a $300 million contract, he already is making more than enough. Being such a great ball player I really want to see him get over the business of going for "team breaking" contracts and focus on playing the game for the love of the game... not for the money. And so I'm not misunderstood I want to point out that I believe ARod plays for the love of the game but I think the money went to his head and he's just lost track of why he plays the game.

Yankee fans are skwaking now about how A-Rod is greedy and underhanded and can't come up clutch in the post-season, but just wait until June when he has 28 homers already and is cruising to another MVP before the All-Star Break. All fans, by nature, are fickle. But living here in New York, let me tell you, NONE swing back and forth on issues like a typical Yankee fan.

I think he has damaged most of what he's gotten from the NY fans.. most Fans dont care about the business of baseball .. why should they .. its entertainment.. He will have to do the same thing he did last year then bat 350 in the post season.. or it'll take 3 more years till the fans like him again.. ARod is the only pro that the regular season doesnt matter to the fans.. only how he does in the post season..

For the sake of argument I look at his "Opting - out" as an ill advised ploy by Scott Boras, his agent. He almost immediately contacted the Yankees and said it was a mistake. By Alex being contrite and contacting the Yankees first, I believe the Yankees will cheer for him.
Remember he most definetly could have gotten his 30 million per year from another team if he so chose.

I think A-rod realized he was listening to a horses **** (Boras) and came to his senses. What would any Yankee fan gain by holding a grudge against A-Rod. He is only asking for $ that someone is willing to pay him. His red-headed little friend was initial one with the bad decision making.. That is what these guys get for letting some greedy little twerp envision his bank account growing at the expense of their clients...This whole thing was about Boras and only Boras and how much $$ can HE get. Yankee fans will love him again the minute he hits his first HR.

I think so. I mean if a player leaves a team because he just doesnt want to play there anymore, and then comes back because they are going to give him a huge sum of money i would be mad. Even if id like a-rod thats being disrespectful too his team. It shows that he only wants to play for the yankees because of the money. Id boo him if i was a yankee fan. Of course untill he hits a homerun lol :)
