My boss is Hungarian....and I remember a few weeks ago when I arrived at the office, she must have forgotten who she was talking to...and started talking to me in Hungarian! To be fair, she had one of her friends from Hungary with her at the time. I just gave her a blank look until she realised what was happening!

Lol poor you. But then again, bosses always seem to speak in foreign languages, if you know what I mean.

Happens to me all the time. I will be in the office on Y!A and my boss will start saying things about responsibility and working and all that but I just give him a blank stare as well.

What does all that mean?

That's funny! Happened to me all the time at the last job.
I worked for a Korean lady and she thought I should be able to understand! Her english was ok but she didn't like to use it. You'd think after almost 12 years I would have picked up something, but no!
Feels like you are on the wrong planet!

For a minute I thought you were talking about my old boss. She was speaking in English, but never made any sense, so it might as well have been another language. I just nodded and smiled and prayed for it to end quickly.

Could be an honest mistake. I personally think if you are in America, you should speak English. If you chose to speak another language at home it is your choice. If I where to go to another country, I would have to learn and speak their language, just out of the respect for them. I personally would let it go, unless she was talking about you. GOOD LUCK

If someone speaks in English, French, Chinese, German or Japanese, I can understand him. I know some Greek, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese and Latin too. If he spoke something besides these languages, I would try all of them to tell him to speak one we both understand.

Agree with her as a joke so she can give you the puzzled look, but before she starts getting mad when you aren't doing what she asked...let her know that she just said that to you in her "first" language.
