Because the Republicans are delivering the same garbage that the Democrats promise us. At least the Democrats are honest about it.
Think about the list you gave us. The ONLY place that the current Republican administration has held firm is on the war in Iraq, and I'm not even sure that's a Republican ideal. We've never been the war party. Reagan was big on defense, but he managed to maintain a strong defense by not frittering it away on pointless unwinnable wars. This Iraq war is unwinnable not because we can't beat the Iraqi army (we already did), but because we have no goal or strategy. I don't even know what you mean when you say "win the war" anymore.
As for the rest of the list above, Republicans have sold us out to the Democrats on every single issue listed. At the moment, I have no respect for the Republican Party. I don't want to vote for a Democrat, but I don't see any difference between the parties anymore. Where is Reagan when you need him?

I vote for democrats because:
~I want elected officials who value schools and want to fund them even if that means higher taxes.
~I want elected officials who understand that our justice system isn't perfect, and innocent people DO get sent to jail.
~I want a party who doesn't give so called "minority special privilidges" to the top 1% of income earners. If that's not a minority group, I don't know what is.
~"Abortion on demand" is a laughable notion. No one just wakes up one day and says "Hey, I'd like to go through the Planned Parenthood drive through to have fries with my abortion. Also, I want politicians who believe in the right to privacy, and who respect the rights of women.
~My state doesn't have welfare. Though I'm glad it does take care of poor children who weren't aborted. Isn't that what you want, no abortion. That's what you get then...help the poor.
~There is nothing wrong with a little political correctness. There is no need to go around deliberately offending people. (See Rush or Howard Stern -- both make me ill)
~I don't think the illegal immigration issue is even valid across party lines. I think 99% of Americans are frustrated with it.
~I don't see why genetalia should be an issue in marriage. It should be between two consenting adults.
~I think a little more government oversight and regulation in the billing practices of insurance companies and hospitals wouldn't be a bad start. Healthcare is far too expensive for most people in this country.
~I am glad there is a party who doesn't scoff at work done at the Geneva convention. Just because it wasn't passed in Washington DC doesn't mean it's obsolete or worthless.
~ We shouldn't be in Iraq. Period. Most of the 9/11 hijackers were from SAUDI ARABIA. NOT ONE was from Iraq. You are not going to convince me that Iraq was a great idea, and that our soldiers even belong there.
I don't know how anyone could vote for a republican. The party that supports an invasion of soverign nation that did nothing to us; a party who has put our country into severe economic debt; a party who thinks the Constitution "just a piece of paper"; a party who discriminates; a party with their head in the sand about what real americans go through day to day; a party who thinks everything is secondary to the almighty dollar; a party who doesn't think they should have to pay their fair share to be Americans; a party who thinks there should be prayer in public schools. A party that doesn't care about children. That's messed up.

One could also ask why would anyone vote for a party that suppoorts torture, a record deficit caused by uncontrolled war spending, a war against the wrong enemy, a party that gave amnesty to millions of illegals during the Reagan Administration, supports terrorists by being in a country where we don't belong, that favors the military industrial complex? Why would anyone support corruption like seen in abundance these days in the GOP? Why would anyone want to vote Republican? Why would anyone want to vote for a party that doesn't care a whit about kids, poor people or the elderly, that doesn't care about the environment, doesn't want to make friends in the world but only go to war? Why would anyone vote Republican? Why would anyone want to vote for the party that introduced the Department of Homeland Security, the largest beurocracy ever devised, that wants to support one religion over another, that loves to take rights away little by little, that doesn't value diversity and only sees the world in black and white? Why on earth would anyone want to vote Republican?
Ok troll, that ought to do you.

That's not what we vote for.. we vote for a party that supports balancing the budget, a just legal system, freedom of choice, helping those who need help, showing some civility in this world, understands that illegal immigration is a larger issue than just 'round them up', again, freedom of choice, believes everyone benefits from everyone having healthcare, remembers that torture is.. well torture, realizes that Iraq is a distraction from the real war on terror, healthy balance of capitalism while not giving a free ride to big business, limited federal government is a founding cornerstone of this nation, practice your religion wherever you want.. just don't force it on me and who doesn't support personal property rights?

Nobody would vote for a political party that supported the things you list. Of course, intelligent and informed people know that the Democrats do not support what you listed, so that's why people will vote for Democrats.

I do not support everything that Democrats do, but given the state of our country over the last six years, I consider them to be the lesser of two evils. if there was a valid third party, I would consider them, but putting another neocon into office would be catastrophic, imo. If you want to know why people vote Democrat, look no further than Pennsylvania Avenue.

If your description was true and correct, nobody would. The distortions and pejoratives in your post just errode your credibility. Your comments are a mish-mash of truths and blatant exxagerations.
I know why I won't be voting for Republicans any time soon. I am very tired of business as usual.
A lot of Americans are as well.
They won't be voting for Republicans.

What do you have against homosexuals? Why shouldn't they suffer like the rest of us?
Why shouldn't poor people get health care?
What makes you have the right to determine what a woman does with her body?
There have been Republicans that I like, but if you're going to go down this list of issues, why would one ever vote for a Republican?
