Some people are copying and pasting answers. I am an IT tech and this is what I recommend for a great free, security suite.
Download Antivir, which is the best free antivirus and is better than all but the best paid for programs. Here is the website:

Next I would recommend that you download Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, just in case you have other malware on your pc that will not be caught by an antivirus cleaner. Its totally free and the best spyware remover on the market, period.

Then as a firewall I would recommend that you download Comodo firewall which is a great free firewall that does not leak like many commercial brands and it is totally free.

Also for added malware protection you can also download BoClean which runs silently in your background and prevents malware from installing on your pc. Once again it is totally free and it works great.

For antivirus: AVG, Avast, PC Tools.
For antispyware: Ad-Aware, PC Tools, Xoftspy, A-Squared Free.

I personally have been using AVG FREE for over 9 months and my system is working great. I have tried all the name brand protection systems that cost a arm and a leg and this free program is BEST.

PCTools products do get good reviews. The good thing is they have free versions of their products. They work great. Spyware Doctor from the Google pack is a must. I highly recommend it. I bought Webroots Spysweeper and spyware doctor finds stuff spysweeper does not. Having both is a perfect combo and I recommend running two anti-spyware products.
