I have 1 D-Link ADSL router with 4 ethernet ports, now I got a laptop and I need to connect it to the router with a WiFi connection, but the router does not have any WiFi capabilities.

My question is: is there any device which I can get and connect it to the ethernet port of the router, and this device will act as a WiFi transmitter and receiver which will be connected to may laptop, is there anything like that?

So, the connection will go from my laptop to this device to the router.

thanks a lot

You can install a wireless card in your desktop for your laptop to connect to, and then bridge your connection on the desktop to the lan by opening your network connections and right clicking on the wireless connection and going down to "bridge connections". This will route internet traffic from your wireless connection to the lan connection of your desktop.

Your best off to just get a new WiFi router and start over. Buy the time you buy a WAP you could spend the same amount and get a wireless router. They are cheap anymore, about 50 bucks.

Yes just buy any wireless router and attach it to your ADSL router. You might be better off just buying a wireless ADSL router and getting rid of the old one.
